Common Threads
December 5 - 21, 2025
Marking a year since her previous SPACE 01 exhibit, The Subconshis Mind, Chicago-based Jamaican American artist Bria Bridges returns to our space with a new body of work that pulls people of color into realms of abstraction and surrealism.
The Body is Chaos
November 1 - 15 , 2025
Through analog photography, Félix Mirel explores a decade shaped by displacement, labor, and reinvention. The Body is Chaos is a descent into trauma, desire, and the inner shadow — a visual journey inspired by Dante, Jung, and Nietzsche. The photographs act as fragments of a descent; moments of rupture, images that refuse to settle. Within this confrontation, there is also resilience — the insistence that from chaos, something alive can emerge. This exhibition is both personal confession and collective mirror, a reminder that to descend into the self is also to encounter our hidden dangers.
Human Touch
September 5 - 7, 2025
Human Touch is Program Studios’ first gallery show aiming to promote human creativity in the emerging age of AI. With the rise of AI in commercial art (a large mass of art and the entry point for artists and creatives to make a living) there is growing danger to artists’ ability to live and compete creatively. As large and small companies both adopt AI creation for all of its pros, it leaves the human artist to hold the burdens of the cons.
Teeth Over Diamonds Hair Over Pearls

Abracadabra: A Celebration of Octavia Reese’s Life, Love & Magic
May 17 - 31, 2025
Octavia Reese was the heart of the art cooperative that later became SPACE 01, and without her vision, our space would not exist as it does today. She built and nurtured a community that uplifted artists, dreamers, and rebels, always making space for those who needed it most. While her passing has left an unfillable void, her spirit continues to guide us. We honor her legacy by continuing the work she so fearlessly championed—creating, connecting, and choosing love.
Thank you, Octavia, for everything. You are forever with us.
Overhead Costs
April 30, 2025
This one-night exhibition features archived footage from multiple raids by the 14th District PD on SPACE 01, as well as documentation of the unlawful arrest of gallery operator, Trejon, on August 21, 2024. Through surveillance video, citations, and official correspondence, the exhibit lays out a pattern of over-policing, bureaucratic obstruction, and municipal neglect — not as isolated incidents, but as routine costs of doing public, creative work in Chicago, IL, USA.
Intravenus: A Slide Show
February 7 - 28, 2025
Intravenus is an invitation to explore a true walking contradiction, the feminine experience. She is saccharine, tender, frivolous, defiant, erotic, debaucherous, and hard-as-nails. This exhibition, produced between 2021 to 2023, reflects a progression of girlhood, queerness, and autonomy; a conversation that frames the internal and external reality of being born under punches… each frame is an assembled love letter to the divine feminine.
