UPCOMING
June 11 from 7 - 9p
Learn how to construct critique spaces
that build on progress and
community. Bring your artwork for critique, a
notebook, and a pen.
Critique is a vital assessment of directionality, epistemology, practices, and history in an artistic
career. Constructive discourse urges the progression forward needed to continue the evolution
of art and humanities. Learn constructive criticism methods that align with effective artistic
discourse and enhance varying degrees of communities.

Figure Drawing Session
June 13 from 4 - 6p
Learn or practice drawing the human figure observationally from a live model. Please note that model will be nude.
All skill levels are welcome! No experience necessary.
Basic supplies (paper, charcoal and erasers) will be provided, but all are welcome to bring your own easel, board and/or drawing materials.
Session is for two hours, and will include several short 10-20 minute poses as well as a longer sustained pose.
This session will be led by Biddy Tran, a multi-disciplinary artist whose work is focused on questions of capitalist hegemony, postcoloniality, and hegemony within art, representation and imaging. Born in Viet Nam, she lives and works in Chicago. Tran is an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Painting Program at Columbia College, Chicago.
